Initial Consultation
Overview
The Initial Consultation training offers the opportunity for
centres to deliver an improved intake meeting that is valuable from
practitioner, service user and Relate centre perspectives. This
training is appropriate for experienced practitioners who have
completed either ‘Consultation with a counsellor’ or the updated
version of that training, now delivered as ‘Client Intake
Meeting.’
AIMS:-
· To present the Initial Consultation Model and rationale for
the Pilot.
· To consider the principles, structure and process of the
Initial Consultation.
· To explain the research and evaluation components of the
Initial Consultation Pilot.
OBJECTIVES:-
· To clarify the purpose of the Initial Consultation Model and
Pilot.
· To consider the structure of the Model and the ways in which
this could operate in Centres.
· To understand how the structure facilitates the assessment
process for clients and the Centre.
· To consider how the structure operates where there are
complexities in Case Management.
· To have an opportunity to reflect on the process and practice
developing the questioning.
· To have an understanding of the research and evaluation
processes surrounding the Initial Consultation Pilot.
