Life through different lenses: how our perspective impacts on our relationships

Presenter: Juliet Grayson

Location: The Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Bristol, Avon BS16 2QQ
Dates: 27 January 2012, 10am - 4pm

Course Description

This course is designed to help couples with communication.

We each see and process the world our own unique way..and most of us think that the way we see (and process) the world is the right way. When someone thinks in a very different way to us, we assume they are mad, bad, stupid...or at the very least just doing it to wind us up. It is even worse when they happen to live with us! An example of this is where one person thinks in an abstract way, and the other loves details..they may perceive one another as ‘vague and fluffy’ or ‘nitpicking.’ These thinking styles are known as meta-programmes.

Juliet will explore some of the thinking styles that commonly cause arguments and disagreement between couples, and help you understand your client’s different thinking styles, and how they can cause problems in a relationship.
