Overview:
The Workshop will help participants recognise the signs of the
three often inter-related conditions and how these can potentially
impact on partner, family and network relationships
It will allow participants to reflect on their practice and
learn new skills in assisting relationships to survive these
conditions.
Objectives:
· Increase participants knowledge of the three conditions
· Increase awareness of the potential influences the conditions
can have on relationships
· Allow participants to reflect on current practice when working
with service users experiencing such conditions
· Increase participants skills levels and confidence in working
with these issues
· Provide participants with examples of helpful and unhelpful
interventions

Therapists and counsellors working with individuals, couples and
or families.
Trainer Biography:
Qualifying as a social worker in 1983, James worked for the next
10 years in various mental health settings. In the early 1990’s he
became a Training & Development Officer for Mental Health
within a Local authority setting which included setting up and
coordinating an Approved Mental Health Social Worker Consortium. In
2005, he became Mental Health Advisor at the University of Bradford
(part-time). Between 2007-2010 he also worked on a LGB Mental
Health project run by Yorkshire MESMAC.
