Relate Certificate in Clinical Supervision
About the course
This course is designed to offer flexible access to an in-house
training in supervision of relationship therapy.
A unique feature of the course is that students can start on any
first day of the 6 modules throughout the year.
Aim
The aim of the programme is to provide education and training
which develops practitioners’ competence in the supervision of
relationship work with couples, families or individuals.
After successfully completing the programme students will:
- Have gained knowledge and understanding of clinical supervision
models, including systemic, psychodynamic and psychosexual
perspectives.
- Be equipped to work as a supervisor in a range of clinical
contexts.
The taught element of the programme consists of six two-day
modules over a year. Each day begins at 9.30 am and ends at 5 pm.
Students will also undertake a placement, usually at a Relate
Centre, of 50 hours of face to face supervision. The clinical
placement runs alongside the taught element of the course.
As well as the taught programme, students will be required to
attend one event from the Relate programme of Continuing
Professional Development days (CPD) which is paid for
separately.
